About the Teacher

Dr. Peirong Lo

Praised as a pianist with artistic insight and dynamic energy, Dr. Peirong Lo has performed extensively in solo and chamber music in the D.C. area, including the Kennedy Center and Strathmore.

Presently, Dr. Lo teaches piano at her private studio in Ashburn. She is a member of the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA) and a performance member of the Friday Morning Music Club.

Dr. Lo previously served as a piano faculty member of the Arts Adjunct Program at Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland and was a vocal accompanist at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. She taught at the International School of Music in Bethesda, Maryland. In addition to her performing and teaching career, she participated in a recording project with Helen Marlais in her Succeeding at the Piano series.

Lo earned her Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degree in collaborative piano from the University of Maryland and her Master of Music (M.M.) degree in piano performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. She was named an honored pianist of the National Orchestral Institute and a finalist of Ulrich Competition at the University of Maryland. She also received accompanying scholarships from the University of Maryland and the Aspen Music Festival and School.

Born and raised in Taiwan, Lo earned her Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree from the Fu Jen Catholic University in Taipei.
